As part of the University of Gharyan’s efforts to advance its quality improvement programs and complete the procedures for institutional and programmatic accreditation across its faculties, and in support of cooperation and knowledge exchange among the University’s faculties, the Faculty of Science organized a workshop entitled “Applying for Institutional Accreditation” on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

The workshop was prepared and delivered by Dr. Tarik Faraj Idbeaa, Quality Coordinator at the Faculty of Science at the time. It brought together representatives of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Information Technology and targeted heads of academic departments and quality coordinators from the participating faculties. The workshop was attended by the Deans of the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering.

The workshop addressed a number of key topics related to quality standards and requirements, as well as the mechanisms and procedures for applying for institutional accreditation. It also included a discussion of the practical steps required to prepare for the accreditation application and fulfill the relevant requirements.

The workshop forms part of the University’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of quality and strengthen the capacities of academic and administrative personnel in the fields of quality assurance and accreditation, while supporting faculties in fulfilling accreditation requirements.

Similar workshops and training activities will continue to be organized for all University faculties that have not yet applied for institutional accreditation, contributing to coordinated efforts and the enhancement of institutional and academic performance across the University.
