As part of the University of Gharyan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its quality assurance system and enhance academic and administrative performance, the University Office of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation held its periodic meeting with the Heads of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Departments at the University’s faculties on Monday, April 13, 2026.

The meeting was held in the University Meeting Room and chaired by Dr. Tariq Faraj Al-Dibie, Director of the University Office of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation, with the participation of the Heads of Quality Assurance Departments from various faculties.

The meeting addressed several key issues related to the University’s quality assurance and academic accreditation efforts. A major focus was placed on preparations for the visit of the external evaluation team from the National Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Educational and Training Institutions. Participants emphasized the importance of completing and updating all documents, evidence, and supporting records related to institutional accreditation standards, while strengthening coordination between the University Quality Assurance Office and the Quality Assurance Departments at the faculties.

The meeting also reviewed the 2026 operational plans of the faculties, emphasizing the importance of aligning these plans with the University’s strategic plan and linking activities and programs to clear and measurable performance indicators. This approach is intended to ensure effective monitoring of progress and the achievement of planned objectives within the approved timelines.

The participants further discussed the main challenges and difficulties facing the faculties in improving the quality of the educational process, particularly those related to resources, infrastructure, and strengthening the culture of quality assurance. Practical proposals and solutions were exchanged, with emphasis on continuous training and professional development for faculty members and academic and administrative staff, as well as strengthening the role of Quality Assurance Departments in performance monitoring and continuous improvement.

The meeting also addressed the readiness of faculties that have obtained institutional accreditation to proceed toward programmatic accreditation. This was highlighted as an advanced stage in the University’s quality and accreditation journey, with emphasis on preparing accreditation files in accordance with the approved standards and documenting educational and assessment practices that demonstrate the quality of academic programs.

During the meeting, Dr. Tariq Faraj Al-Dibie emphasized the importance of integrating efforts between the University Office of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation and the Quality Assurance Departments at the faculties, and of working collectively to strengthen the culture of quality, enhance institutional practices, and achieve continuous improvement across the University.

The meeting was attended by Heads of Quality Assurance Departments from several faculties, including the Faculties of Arts – Al-Asabia and Gharyan, Accounting, Education – Kikla, Mizda and Gharyan, Physical Education, Law, Science – Gharyan and Al-Asabia, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, and Information Technology.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of maintaining continuous coordination and communication between the University Quality Assurance Office and the Quality Assurance Departments at the faculties, monitoring the implementation of recommendations and operational plans, and ensuring readiness for upcoming evaluation and accreditation processes.

It was also agreed to continue holding periodic meetings to monitor progress in implementing operational plans, exchange experiences and good practices among the Quality Assurance Departments, and address challenges that may affect the implementation of quality assurance and performance evaluation activities.

The meeting concluded at 1:00 p.m., following the completion of the agenda and discussion of all items presented, with follow-up on the agreed actions scheduled for upcoming periodic meetings.
