An extraordinary meeting of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Department at the Faculty of Science – Gharyan was held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, with the participation of the University of Gharyan Office of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation. The meeting was attended by the Quality Coordinators from the academic departments, as well as representatives of the various offices, departments, and administrative and technical units of the Faculty.

The meeting was opened by Ms. Sana Al-Jali, Head of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Department at the Faculty, who welcomed all participants. She also welcomed Dr. Tarik Faraj Idbeaa, Director of the University Office of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation, who joined the meeting.

The meeting addressed several important topics, most notably:

• Preparation for the visit of the team assigned by the National Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Educational and Training Institutions, which was scheduled to assess the readiness of the Faculty’s postgraduate Master’s program in Botany at the University of Gharyan, in preparation for obtaining the technical license for the program.
• Follow-up on the Faculty’s Quality Assurance File and the level of progress achieved in fulfilling the relevant requirements.
• Reviewing the preparation and completion of quality standards across the Faculty’s academic departments.
• Discussing the challenges and obstacles encountered by some Quality Coordinators in the academic departments and identifying appropriate solutions to address them.

The meeting also discussed various procedures related to the quality assurance system and its requirements across all components of the Faculty, in accordance with the standards and regulations adopted by the National Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Educational and Training Institutions. Emphasis was placed on the importance of Quality Coordinators in the academic departments carrying out their responsibilities in accordance with the approved plans and coordinating their implementation with the Head of the Faculty’s Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Department.

At the conclusion of the meeting, all participants emphasized the importance of complying with the agreed-upon actions, strengthening cooperation and coordination, and working collectively as one team to achieve the desired objectives and enhance the Faculty’s readiness to meet quality assurance and accreditation requirements.

For his part, Dr. Nasser Abu Rawi, Dean of the Faculty of Science – Gharyan, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all participants for their continued efforts in supporting the Faculty’s quality assurance and accreditation initiatives. He commended their valuable contributions and wished all academic, administrative, and technical staff continued success and achievement.
