Participation in the ARMONIA Project Working Group Meeting

On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, Dr. Tarik Faraj Idbeaa, Director of the University’s Office of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation, participated via Zoom in a meeting of the working group for the “ARMONIA” Project for the Development of Higher Education in Libya. The project is coordinated by the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED) and funded by the European Union. During the meeting, the project’s work plan and timelines for all project activities were presented and discussed.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Marcelo Esquizi, Director General of UNIMED and General Coordinator of the project, together with his project team. The meeting also brought together directors of the International Cooperation and Quality Assurance Offices from the Libyan universities participating in the project, representatives of the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as representatives of the Italian and Turkish universities participating as project partners.

The ARMONIA Project aims to develop and modernize the higher education system in Libya, support the adoption and implementation of the principles and practical mechanisms of the Bologna Process, and promote regional integration through the establishment of comparable recognition systems, quality assurance tools, and academic cooperation frameworks.

The project is supported by the European Union as part of its capacity-building programs for Libyan universities.
